wooden beams / clean lines
The attraction to "Modern/Minimal" has recently evolved into "Modern/Rustic" for me. I have found myself leaning towards raw woods paired with clean lines. And I can't get enough! I think these images describe the complimentary qualities I am talking about . . .

blabla
I have passed this adorable store on the corner of my street for months now, wondering and wanting to go in, but never having the time. I finally got to pop my head in, as well as speak briefly to one of their designers, to find exactly what it is that they do. Very impressed by their craftsmanship, colors and simplicity, I introduce to you, Blabla.
"Blabla's collection is designed by Florence Wetterwald and knitted by Peruvian artisans. Everything is made from natural fibers of exceptional quality grown in Peru, making the line irresistibly soft and cuddly.
Florence's poetic, simple and vibrant style combined with the ancestral knowledge of the knitters has created products which look contemporary, yet feel like old friends."

"Photographer Anita Calero migrated to West Chelsea long before the current stampede of millionaires. Back in the 1990s, she rented a 2,000-square-foot loft in an artists’ condominium, which she then bought and began to reconfigure. Calero knocked wide doorways into several rooms, including the new eat-in kitchen with its major appliances carefully hidden from the adjacent spaces. The dining table and chairs are lightly restored Jean Prouvé “standard chairs,” with a faux-coral chandelier above (Calero frequents furniture dealers and flea markets). Of course, this kind of archaeology isn’t possible in the ultra-luxury apartments rising around Calero’s building. We especially love how she has embraced the older elements of the space."
