Painted Brick

Minus the fact that these homes are gorgeous (with or without the painted brick), I would like to start the discussion - To paint or not to paint brick?
I feel like the answer was once not to paint brick, but now I feel like it is such an accepted statement on a home. . .
Please take a look at these images and give me your thoughts.
(I'm considering painting our brick home).

Selldorf Architects

Love the muted consistency throughout the home. It really allows the landscaping and nature to stand out from the rest of the house. This is the way I think architecture should be; blend in.

Israel "IZ"

Israel Kamakawiwo'ole.
His rendition of somewhere over the rainbow just makes me happy.

. . . too bad the imagery is LAME!

interesting ceilings

Why have a bland dry-walled ceiling when you could have one like this?
That is of course IF one could afford something like this . . . not often the case unfortunately.

Thinking about making a "wood nook" like this in our den . . .

I'm really liking the light trim and the dark window grill/door

obviously I'm in the mood for cold weather with the chill of these horse images . . .

backyard bliss

a collection a photos gathered as inspiration towards my backyard. . .

(please excuse the lack of sourcing on the below photos)

Really like the idea of creating low decking around a gathering of trees. . . (minus those pillows and potted flowers)

Yes . . .

I love clever, simple products. The ones that make you say, "Yeah, duh. Why didn't someone do that a long time ago?"

First seen on The Designer Pad, these chopsticks double as a spoon! No more picking up the bowl and drinking the broth will be required.

"Frech product designer Aïssa Logerot came up with the exceptional Spoon More, a chopstick and spoon hybrid that makes eating a bowl of your favorite Ramen Noodles or Pho Ga a breeze. When taken apart, the spoon also serves as a small dish for your sauce."

(I really like the packaging too)
